GUIDING PHILOSOPHY

Uniquely tailored to the goals of each horse and rider team.

JumpStart Training offers a professional training program in the sport of Hunters and Show Jumping. Tailored to the individual goals of each horse and rider, we are committed to the highest quality of care, training, instruction, and support.  Further, we custom build each program to meet the specialized needs of our clients at their current level of performance.

Together, we create achievable goals, while working to stretch their skills so both horse and rider can progress safely and patiently while having fun. Because JumpStart Training is a customized program, there are a wide variety of opportunities to compete, from local schooling shows to national level events, if that is your desire. We are a “Hunter/Jumper” program, but the focus will always be on safe and correct riding and horsemanship whether jumping or not. Thus, a person that doesn’t want to jump will still find a home in our program.

JumpStart Training believes in the importance of exceptional horsemanship and ground work, along with the benefits of cross-training in Dressage and Eventing. Lessons and competitive opportunities are available for those who are interested.

No two horses or riders are alike. As a team, the horse and rider will require a program designed specifically to meet their unique goals given their current skill level. Customization may include frequency and type of training rides vs lessons with the owner, accommodation of goals for horse and rider, desired level of competition and a lesson program designed to provide non-owner riders with the tools needed to eventually lease or own a horse.

HEATHER & HARVEY

"I have been with Kiri since 2012, and it was clear from day one that she would become an exceptional Trainer."

"Kiri's commitment to the horses and students in her program is unmatched. Kiri paired me with my once in a lifetime horse Harvey in 2012. As we have trained together, we have had to work around painful flares of my chronic illness, along with exacerbations of Harvey's old injuries from his former career as a very successful Jumper.

Time and time again, Kiri kept us both going with a level of dedication that I have never seen in another trainer in any sport. When I would have to take a break for medical reasons, she would keep Harvey going, getting him ready for my return, adjusting the program, and cheering me on so that I could get back on my big boy.

Though we didn't know it at the time, Kiri made sure that I got my final ride on my birthday before Harvey passed away...both Kiri and I miss him deeply.

Even after Harvey is no longer with us, Kiri is in my corner still working to get me back on the horse.  I'm so grateful for her unwavering belief in what I can do as I continue my rehabilitation. It is because of her that I am beginning to believe that I might learn to dance with a one-ton free spirit as my partner! A lifelong dream made manifest....Kiri is the real deal. Thank you Kiri - you never stopped believing in us!

-Heather and Harvey (In Spirit)
